Introducing Silent Sunday Retreat With Dr Kamila Hortynska
The day will comprise of several guided mindfulness practices and other meditations flowing gently into one another. Carefully designed to help you come into the present moment, learn to be aware and mindful of your inner experiences with the attitude of non-judgement, self-kindness, and acceptance.
Each retreat is different, but the practices might include:
- mindfulness of breath
- mindful sitting with the sounds
- breathing space practice
- mindful walking
- mindful eating
- mindful stretching/ movement
- and mindful body scanning.
Other meditations that I often guide are:
- loving-kindness meditation
- appreciation & gratitude practice
- inner space & outer space practice
- golden light practice
- rose meditation.
Between the meditation practices I usually read inspiring quotes and poems. Sometime we meditate with background music and other times in silence broken only by bird songs from the garden.
At the beginning of the day we always spend a bit of time setting the intentions for the day and at the end of the day there will be time for reflections, questions and sharing of experiences for those who feel like it. There will also be some time for questions after lunch.
Other parts of the day will be silent to facilitate the deepening of our meditation practice and taking a real break from the business of everyday life. If your intention will be to really connect with your Inner Self, you will not need to interact with other participants.
What Previous Attendees Say About My Retreats
“The retreat gets 10 points. The space is safe and calm and truly beautiful. The host is wonderful. Kamila is truly in tune with people and herself. A real inspiration and a great light in my life’s journey. I loved the mirror exercise. I’d definitely recommend this retreat- inspiring, cathartic, hard but truly great!”
“I was apprehensive before arriving at The Hollies as I do not have much experience with practising mindfulness and meditation. However, I found the retreat to be so rewarding. It was a wonderful experience to share and connect with the other attendees and Kamila was an excellent guide throughout the practises. I left with a feeling of calm and excitement for the future and was able to let go of my anxieties. Everything was perfect. Thank you”
“I came to this retreat without any expectations as I’ve never done it before.. I knew my mind was busy on daily basis, but when you stop and listen to your thoughts, they become very loud. It was amazing to experience them consciously, noticing how some of them upset me straight away and others uplift my mood. And I didn’t realise how many thoughts go through my mind in a split second. I wasn’t nervous when I came, but I kind of couldn’t relax at first but then slowly slowly through meditations my mind started to let go of these thoughts. I really enjoyed the walk in the park too. For me it felt as if I walked in Alice in the Wonderland, birds were singing so loud I didn’t hear anything else, and I saw first spring flowers too. By the end of retreat I still had loads of thoughts in my mind, but they were a lot quieter and I had control over them. In total I spent all day at Kamila’s as I was attending Inner Light Academy straight after (so about 11h at least) and strangely at the end of the day I didn’t feel tired at all, not physically nor mentally. And I felt calmness, even the next day. It was a great experience 🙂
“I found this retreat really helpful and it felt like a good continuation of the Happiness Course. The setting was wonderful and Kamila is a gifted facilitator. I that what I have learned and discovered can only advance my life further. I found ten movement exercises very powerful, and was unprepared for and overpowered by the cathartic outcome of them. Thank you! I also liked the chakra meditation!”
“I feel different now. More relaxed, calm and open. The retreat provided me with insight and direction. I enjoyed meditating in a group. I really enjoyed movement exercises. I give it top marks! Thank you :)”
“It was 10 out of 10. It has given me a chance to explore my thoughts and feeling, my highs and lows, and gave me a good look at my life. I enjoyed the people in the group and the empathy and connection I felt with you and them. I loved the dancing and the yoga too”
